The Football League has confirmed that Tottenham's Jermain Defoe was eligible to play against Burnley in the Carling Cup semi-final second leg.The Championship side had questioned whether Defoe, who scored Spurs' second goal at Turf Moor, should even have been allowed on the pitch.
