Ex-Spurs star claims this club decision was surprising and ‘a real problem’
Tottenham Hotspur’s ex-keeper Paul Robinson has claimed that the club decision to sell Kieran Trippier came far too easily and has been a real problem this season.
Trippier had been Pochettino’s first-choice right-back for a couple of seasons, ever since Kyle Walker left for Manchester City.
However, after a poor 2018/19 campaign, Tottenham decided to cash in when Atletico Madrid came knocking for the defender.
Trippier has taken to life in Spain extremely well, while Spurs failed to sign a replacement and have been struggling ever since.
Pochettino has already trialled five current players at right-back this season, namely Serge Aurier, Kyle Walker-Peters, Juan Foyth, Moussa Sissoko, and Davinson Sanchez.
