‘He can do anything he wants’ – Mourinho on the potential of this Spurs star
What a couple of weeks it has been for Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli, after the club chose to sack Mauricio Pochettino five and a half years into his North London reign.
Under Poch this past year or two, Alli looked a shadow of his former self, plagued by injury, inconsistency, and unfavourable positions.
Dele was dropped from the last two England squads by Gareth Southgate, despite being a first-team regular for the previous two major tournaments.
However, since Jose Mourinho took over at Spurs, it has all changed for the youngster. Now being played in his favoured number 10 spot, rather than left-mid or a holding role, he looks like the Dele of old.
