“It hurt my pride”: Tottenham ace vows to stop taking penalties
Heung-Min Son has admitted it might be time for him to stop taking penalties after missing a second spot-kick in two months for South Korea.
The Tottenham forward saw a penalty saved in a 2-1 win over Uruguay on Friday – fortunately a teammate was on hand to score the rebound.
It was Son’s second penalty miss in two months for his country after he misjudged one against Costa Rica last month.
And the 26-year-old says he might have taken his last spot-kick for club and country.
“We played a great game as a team to win, but personally, I still have a lot of room for improvement,” Son said after the Uruguay game (via Yonhap News).
“It hurt my pride to miss the penalty. I don’t think I’ll be taking any more penalties.”
