Jose Mourinho speaks about closing the gap to the top four teams
Even the most optimistic Tottenham fan would admit that it is unlikely Spurs will challenge for the title this season, despite the improvements since Jose Mourinho took over.
Spurs are now a full 20 points behind league leaders Liverpool, after just 14 games. Beyond this, there is not a huge amount of difference between second and fourth, apart from the prize money up for grabs.
Therefore, the main aim for Spurs this season should be about putting pressure on that top four and breaking into the Champions League spots.
Leicester City are currently in second on 32 points, with Man City on 29 points, and Chelsea on 26 points.
