Report: Tottenham in two minds over whether to sign midfielder in January
According to a report in Spanish publication AS (as relayed by Sports Witness), Tottenham Hotspur are still contemplating whether or not to make the loan deal for Giovani Lo Celso permanent this month.
The Argentine was signed on loan from Real Betis in the summer and the transfer will be made permanent for €40m if Spurs qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The club also have an option of signing Lo Celso permanently for a lower fee of €34m in the January transfer window (Sport Witness).
Betis president Ángel Haro was confident that the Lilywhites will activate the clause in the winter market thus making Lo Celso a permanent Spurs player (Estadio Deportivo).
However, now the report in AS suggests that Spurs are having second thoughts...
