Who’s Worse…. Arsenal Or Chelsea?

This season as unquestionably thrown up a few surprises, after last season I expected for us Spurs fans at best we would battle it out with Arsenal for 4th place but things have gone better than expected and it now leaves Arsenal fighting it out with Chelsea but it seems neither of them want it.
Both Arsenal & Chelsea are lacking, need a new injection of 4 or 5 players each, Wenger has stuck by his youth policy and finding players on the cheap but it seems as though his midas touch may have finally deserted him. Chelsea have allowed their team to grow old and now require a few new players to get the team back to the top and AVB is paying the price for this.
4th place is well and truly anyones, even Liverpool are in with a shout as they seem to be finding some form. We play both Chelsea...

Gareth Bale's Future Remains At Tottenham Thanks To Barcelona

BREAKING NEWS: Gareth Bale will still be with Tottenham next season.
On Tuesday, Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu finally came out and what what many people had already assumed. The club does not have the money to pay exorbitant money for any players this summer. That whole debt thing is catching up with them, kind of. They're not in any financial trouble, but they can't spend lavishly on any new players.
That means that the reports of Bale or anyone else, like Robin van Persie, joining Barcelona are false. The money just isn't there.
"Those players are very good, but we always need common sense in any negotiations," Bartomeu said. "We will not enter the madness market but it is impossible for Barcelona to pay 40 or 50 million ...

Lancaster shines as Uvini makes his bow

It’s already been a big year for Cameron Lancaster after he made his first Spurs appearance as a late substitute in last month’s 3-1 win over Wigan. Yesterday, the 19 year old striker upstaged his new team mate Bruno Uvini by nailing a hat trick in a Spurs XI 7-3 win over Leyton Orient.
Tottenham’s other goals were scored by Massimo Luongo who has also seen the first team bench in recent weeks, plus strikes from Will Ekong, Simon Dawkins and Cristian Ceballos. Uvini played an hour of the game but there was no comment on his performance on the club website.
As for Lancaster, aside from a very brief spell on loan at Dagenham and Redbridge last year he hasn’t seen any other form of first team football. However, it certainly looks as if a furt...

Kyle's goal for life

The flying full-back did exactly that in his first North London derby as we toppled the Gunners 2-1 back in October.

Kyle picked up the ball 35 yards from goal, controlled and lashed past Wojciech Szczesny to send the Lane into raptures and enter his name in derby folklore.

“That goal comes up in every interview I do!” said Kyle, as we prepare for Sunday’s encounter at the Emirates.

“As I always say, I just thought ‘why not have a shot?’, it went in and we took the three points. It was a great day.”

Kyle insists the players cannot wait for Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur Formation Analysis: Why 3-5-2 Didn’t Work For Spurs At Stevenage

Last weekend, Spurs limped their way to a deeply unconvincing 0-0 draw against Stevenage away from home at the Lamex Stadium in the FA Cup. Clearly, we cannot merely put this disappointing result down to Spurs not playing a team strong enough to be up the task, as every member of the side was seasoned and talented enough to see off their League One counterparts.
The problem, as I see it, was the 3-5-2 formation that we were attempting to play. The issue is not that the 3-5-2 is an inherently weak way to line a team up - indeed, as I will try to demonstrate, it could have been highly effective if we had pulled it off properly. The problem is that we didn't, for reasons illustrated after the jump.

As you will have probably n...

Will English clubs' Champions League failure be a passing phase? | Paul Wilson

Chelsea and Arsenal's expected failure to reach the Champions League last eight could mark a low ebb in English footballThe vultures are beginning to circle over the stumbling, disorganised remnants of Premier League participation in Europe's major club competition, waiting for the moment when life can be pronounced extinct and the bones of a once thriving enterprise can be picked clean, probably prior to being danced over.In case you haven't heard, should Arsenal and Chelsea fail to overcome their first-leg deficits against Italian opponents when the Champions League resumes next month, English football will not have a side in the last eight for the first time since its formation 1996. Sixteen years is a long time, especially when English ...
