Parker and Dawson could benefit from the John Terry affair

Outside of Harry’s court case, the issues surrounding John Terry and the England captaincy have been firmly in the media spotlight this week and while the attention is currently on manager Fabio Capello, two of Tottenham’s England internationals could be set to profit from the affair.
Scott Parker emerged last season to command a regular place in the England side and since his move to White Hart Lane, our outstanding midfielder must surely be one of the first names on Capello’s team sheet.
That consistency and his all round professionalism has led Scott to top many polls as the logical choice to take over the captaincy. This would be a sound decision to reward a player who is unlikely to dominate the headlines in the same way as some of his...

Loan watch

Both played the full 90 minutes as the Lions won a thriller 3-2 in injury time to set-up a home match against Bolton on February 18.
Harry, leading the line in a 4-3-3 system, provided assists for two of the three goals, including that late, late winner for Liam Feeney.
The young striker teed up Liam Trotter for the opener on 17 minutes.
Midfielder Ryan had a chance to double that lead but fired wide in the 34th minute.
The home side soon hit back through Adam Lallana and then took the lead with 15 minutes remaining via Ricky Lambert.
Undetered, Millwall levelled through Danny N'Guessan and then Harry set-up the winner, taking a quick free-kick to Feeney who drilled home the winner.
Meanwhile Yago Falque, currently on loan at Southampton an...

Plus point for Daws

Back in the team for injured Younes Kaboul, Michael produced a typically whole-hearted display alongside Ledley King in central defence to keep out the Reds in the goalless draw at Anfield.
Scott Parker and Jake Livermore added an extra defensive shield as we scrapped it out for a valuable point.
We might have even grabbed maximum points as Gareth Bale broke clear five minutes from time but Pepe Reina saved the one-on-one chance.
"We defended so well from back to front and you have to do that against Liverpool," reflected Michael.
"They will always cause teams problems at Anfield.
"Andy Carroll is a real target man and you know you've been in a game against him. I've had a few battles and hit the ground a few times!
"Overall, we take a lot ...

12-0, triffic

Twitching with happiness. Thoughts and prayers for Lukey Moore, West Ham and Arsenal fans and the HMRC (along with the £8M spent on the investigation to find out if Harry was guilty of evading 30k in tax. Irony and obsession).
Nice touch from the gaffer (during post-court interview) citing the support from the home crowd at the Wigan game.
Obviously, we can concern ourselves with Harry's replacement if leaves for the England job in the summer...when that eventually arrives at the end of the season. In the mean time, we can get back to the football.
Onwards.

If he says run around a bit, you must acquit: Harry Redknapp cleared on tax evasion charges

Harry Redknapp is apparently not a tax evader, or apparently not enough of an ill-intending, obvious tax evader to get in trouble. Redknapp and former Portsmouth FC owner Milan Mandaric have been cleared of all charges in their tax evasion case. Everything should get back to normal at Tottenham Hotspur shortly, which is really awesome, considering that the team has looked a bit shaky late in the games where Redknapp has not been in charge.
If you haven't been following along with this case, Mandaric gave Redknapp a couple of payments. He told 'Arry to open up a bank account in Monaco for one of them. The defense successfully argued that the money Mandaric gave to Redknapp as a friendly gesture and that the payment did not have...
