Southgate explains why he picked Spurs ace over Man Utd player
Gareth Southgate recently announced England’s preliminary 27-man squad for the UEFA Nations League finals (BBC). The Three Lions will take on the Netherlands in the semifinals on the 6th of June at the Estadio D. Afonso Henriques Stadium in Guimaraes, Portugal.
If England overcome the Dutch, they will play the winner of the other semifinal tie between Portugal and Switzerland, for the honour of being named the first ever Nations League champions.
On the whole, Southgate has shown faith with the players who have played well to take England to the semifinals. As many as six Spurs players are part of the squad, namely Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose.
