Spurs legend slams VAR ‘pantomime’
Spurs legend Martin Chivers has slammed the farcical use of VAR in our FA Cup win against Rochdale.
The former forward watched on as Erik Lamela seemed to have put us ahead only for the goal to be later ruled out due to a foul. Referee Paul Tierney then gave a free-kick for a foul on Kieran Trippier before the VAR intervened, deciding it was a penalty instead.
During the first half there were several delays as Tierney checked and rechecked decisions on the field and while we eventually emerged 6-1 victors, Chivers believes the decision making could have cost us.
