Tottenham tie down yet another defender with new contract
Tottenham have handed a new contract to defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.
The 20-year-old spent the first half of the season with Sheffield United before joining Ipswich Town on loan in January.
Once tipped as the future of Spurs’ defence, Carter-Vickers’ stock has fallen since Mauricio Pochettino sent the youngster out on loan.
The Tottenham manager usually prefers to keep the young players he likes around the first team in order to teach them the philosophy he has instilled at the club.
However, there is reason to believe Carter-Vickers still has a future at Spurs.
The club has announced he has been handed a new three-year contract.
