Monaco have opened contract talks with the ‘new Thierry Henry’ Kylian Mbappe – in a bid to ward off interest from Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool.
All three Premier League clubs have been linked with the teenage Frenchman, who Arsene Wenger compared to Arsenal’s all-time leading scorer.
Barcelona and Real Madrid also retain an interest in the 18-year-old, who has scored seven goals in 17 Ligue 1 outings so far this term.
His long-term future is currently unclear as he is approaching the final two years of his contract, which has given the chasing pack hope of concluding a deal.
Henry also came through the ranks at Monaco before making a move to Juventus – and it has been reported that a similar switch away from the principality could be in store for Mbappe.
