Trippier compared to Beckham and hailed as ‘the face of a new era’ in Spain
Tottenham Hotspur took the decision to sell their first-team right back yet again this summer, after Kieran Trippier endured a poor season in a Spurs shirt.
The England man only won a place in the Spurs side when Kyle Walker was being lined up for a summer exit to Man City.
Trippier was a hero for his country at the Russia World Cup, being one of the best right-backs at the tournament and even scoring in the semi-final.
However, he was unable to replicate this kind of electric form for Spurs come the new season, hampered by fatigue and injury.
Despite this, Atletico Madrid were more than happy to snap him up this summer, paying Spurs £20m for the full-back. (Guardian).
