Novak Djokovic began his quest for a fourth successive ATP Tour Finals title by brushing aside Kei Nishikori in the opening match of the season-ending tournament at the 02 Arena this afternoon.
The world number one took just one hour and six minutes to seal a 6-1 6-1 victory over the eight seed from Japan, finishing things off with a perfectly-judged volley indicative of his performance.

The Serbian immediately took control by breaking Nishikori at the first opportunity. He broke him again in game six to virtually clinch a first set in which he lost just three points on his own serve.
