David Beckham had many great Old Trafford moments during his Manchester United career, but none may have put as big a smile on his face as what happened in this afternoon’s Match for Children.
The former England captain, who was skippering the victorious Great Britain & Ireland team, managed by Sir Alex Ferguson, was substituted for eldest son Brooklyn in the second half of the charity game.

Beckham hugged the 16-year-old and was given a standing ovation by the capacity crowd, who watched a Rest of the World team be beaten 3-1 courtesy of a Michael Owen brace and Paul Scholes header.
